“Dee allowed me to achieve my next level of conditioning that I hadn’t considered. His specificity is unbeatable!”
Mike LaRocco, Professional Motocross Racer – Team Amsoil/Doc Martens/Factory Connections
“The 2014 enduro race season would mark my first year incorporating strength/ mobility work into my training regimen. I will go ahead and say that I have never been a “gym guy”. I had previously trained by riding a bunch and pushing my own personal limits to improve. As the discipline of enduro grows and gets more serious, athletes truly need to gain every advantage possible to stay at the sharp edge of our sport.
I have always possessed a reasonable amount of base fitness from years of racing many different disciplines, but I can also say that this has created imbalances in my body. I have never been able to touch my toes, and have not focused on mobility before. My first few programs were based on getting my body to move correctly and improve flexibility. The most basic stretching helped hugely with recovery and feeling loose while on the bike. I had not realized how tight and stiff I was previously riding. Just getting everything to loosen up a bit was huge. The biggest thing I noticed was my ability to correct and adapt when things were going wrong. Everyone crashes from time to time, but minimizing these opportunities, is of utmost importance. I had so many close calls this year, moments when I should have been on the ground. Being strong enough and more mobile helped me to adapt quickly and stay off of the ground. One violent crash can ruin a season of racing, so the ability to ride stronger and prevent this from happening is priceless. I can honestly say that my training kept me from getting hurt on numerous occasions.
My successful race season was due to many factors working together. Diet, rest, bike setup, there are many pieces to the puzzle of success. Incorporating strength training into my routine was a huge benefit at the end of the day. Just being able to recover better and ride strong, day after day, made a monumental difference. I would highly recommend Dee’s guidance to anyone who is trying to take their racing or riding to the next level.”
Nate Hills – 2014 Big Mountain Enduro Overall Winner and 2nd place overall in North American Enduro Tour
“I came to see Dee in March of 2005 with a severe case of Sciatica and SI Joint dysfunction. It affected every component of my swing, not to mention being in a chronic state of pain! Here it is in February of 2006 and I just won my first tournament at one of the hardest and demanding courses of the year, The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro AM! I can’t be more happy what Dee, has done for me!”
Arron Oberholser- PGA Tour Player
“Thanks for the best preparation and training possible! The specificity of my training not only helped me recover from my injuries more quickly it also allowed me to perform above my competitors all season long. You rock! Thanks for letting me do my best!”
Missy Giove, Professional Downhill Mountain Biker – Team Global
“Dee has taken my training to a new level. With new advances in high performance sports conditioning, he gave me an edge on the competition. Training for function and sports specifics will not only improve my results and consistency but will lengthen my career in motocross racing!”
Danny Smith, Professional Motocross Racer – Team Suzuki
“I have been racing mountain bikes for nearly 10 years, and Enduro MTB Training has helped bridge the gap from training just for fitness to training to be a stronger, more capable all-around rider. Enduro racing is one of the most complicated disciplines to train for, plan for and race strong day in and day out. It’s about having the consistent aerobic foundation to make it through the long days, anaerobic threshold to produce all-out efforts, and corrective strength and mobility to navigating technical terrain, all while being mentally taxed.

“Season went pretty well and as such I exceeded my expectations for the motorbike enduro early so I just joyrides for the rest of the year while sticking to your program until some time (got to mid program 3) this summer when a few curve balls killed the focus.
Went freeriding on the dirtbike for 7 days in Romania and attribute your program to me beating the guide and a far better rider up the nastiest riverbed: 2 km of boulders and logs in first gear and manhandling the bike. I also think the flexibility and full body strengthening help me ride for 7 days with little impact and I am pretty sure it saved my shoulder joint when the bike to off with my arm! Had it been last year I would have had joint damage but I escaped with minor issues to biceps, triceps and pectoral.”
